Studies in the field of soil remediation, namely bioremediation, with microbiological organisms carried out in partnership with Turanlar Holding and Istanbul University, have been successful. At the signing ceremony held with the participation of TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) President Hasan Mandal, Turkish Patent Institute President Cemil Başpınar and Istanbul University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak, this success, which was achieved by the cooperation of the private sector and academia, made everyone proud.
Turanlar Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors İrfan Turan drew attention to the following issues in his speech;
Today, we are proud to have accomplished a work that many companies around the world, the relevant government and government agencies could not resolve. We share with you the honour of registering our new inventions and methods in the biological remediation of oil-contaminated soil, primarily to be used in the world’s largest environmental project in the Kuwait region. In our laboratory and open field pilot studies, we have improved the soil at 22% tph pollution level by 96% at the end of 30 days, reducing it to 0.89%, which is considered a cleared level. Achieving such a success is a source of great pride for us.
